- Rehabilitation nurses provide around-the-clock nursing care including bowel management, bladder training and skin maintenance.
- Physical therapists focus on lower extremity function and mobility skills, while occupational therapists address upper extremity function and self-care skills. When indicated, a speech pathologist will be involved to increase the patient's capabilities in the areas of cognition, language, and/or swallowing.
- Other professionals involved in helping patients achieve their greatest potential may include a case manager, social worker, activities therapist and psychologist/neuropsychologist.
